Parklife and Nettle Dale

Had a little wander through Thirsk park with my daughter in her buggy and managed to spot Nuthatch picking food out of the grooves on a rather stately, old tree. I enjoyed watching two Grey Wagtails feeding over Cod Beck and landing occasionally on the pebbles by the banks. Also spied a Bullfinch and other finches, tits, sparrows and ducks. Found a Moorhen nest in a tree about two foot above the water as well.

Enjoyed a trip up to Nettle Dale, between Scawton and Old Byland. Nearly ran over a Red-Legged Partridge just outside of Scawton. What a start... Enjoyed watching a Brown Hare bounding up the dale and saw it again on my return to the car. Good to see a pair of Grey Wagtails feeding by the beck and fish ponds too.
